(h1n1) Vaccine

After months of waiting and umm, few times of discussion whether to vaccinate or not, finally our lil girl had her aH1N1 Vaccine last Saturday. Actually that was her second shot , the first was taken a week before the second...

I have been so reluctant and on the fence about it at first, because I read alot of opinions which were mostly not in favor. Some were over exaggerating the potential problems with the vaccine. Some even said it has not been properly tested yet, blah blah...

But I guess the media was really scare mongering that overwelmed us to be more extra cautious and wait for the Vaccine to be available in the masses. It's so sad to hear the news about kids have died =( It freaked me out a bit that me and my dolly seldom go out, ride a train and mall hop=(

I admire Japan Media for being responsible enough to educate their people about this Influenza outbreak ( ah1n1 ) and atleast on how to prevent it. This actually made me watch the news every now and then lol. (but not anymore....)

The virus is unique, new in 2009, and our immune systems do not have antibodies that will act on it at all. That is why people under 50 are the ones who die from it, unlike the seasonal flu.

The bottomline, I just want to be the best mom I can for my daughter…and if anything happened to her…I would never forgive myself for which ever decision I might have made. It's better to prevent..

Im actually kinda relief now.. we can go out anytime we want. The only thing that prevents us is the freaking cold weather ...

P.S
please ALWAYS wash your hands first as soon as you get home..

Hand washing is the single most important step in preventing the spread of diseases.

  3. Yay! I am hesitant to have my girls vaccinated sis for the same reasons you mentioned... I'll probably wait a little more and see if there's no harmful side-effects to the others who got it.. Sorry ha, i'm not trying to scare you...

yeah reading a lot of nega and positive opinions over the net, nakaka-confuse and katakot leaving us to have tough decision..

SO far wala pa kami nababalitaan na nagka-side effect dito, if there is, the government will surely stop the vaccination.

  6. Nothing wrong with being prepared, rather than be sorry sis! Though the vaccine never did get to fly off here in the RP.

  7. hi bambie! it's been a while. that's very brave of you to have anzu vaccinated. did you get yourself vaccinated too? as for me, i am biding my time. perhaps samantha will get hers in 2011. her pedia kasi doesn't recommend it yet. and i guess here in germany, you can say that we are pretty safe.

  8. That AH1N1 was really scary... Here in Pinas. They had to suspend classes due to that thing. And yes, prevention is a lot better than cure.

  9. that's good for the child. But i think the effect is only good for six months. But i am not so sure, better check it.

  11. No H1N1 vaccine for Una yet, but will have it as soon as the pedia says OK. Ang cute naman ng patch na yan. Bakit kaya dito, cotton and medical tape lang?
