Hatty Hat

Summer here in Japan is almost finished .. That's what I think because BER months have just began . I asked hubby if it's already Autumn, but he didn't gave me the exact answer.-- it's like "uhhh not yet... hmm yeah i think so... it's already fall---" .. How come he wasn'T sure?!!! Is he also a foreigner in his homeland? Just kidding...

Blame the global warming. Our world is ahead or behind the weatherly schedule. One day, it's so hot, and suddenly the rain pours .

Anywayz.... Timingly, Ive got loads of photos of my dear dolly wearing HAT which happened to be the assignment for this week's Mommy Moments..

I don't wanna bore you with so many photos, but this would just take not less than a minute of your time

you might have seen these photos though...

One month to go....

Gosh, my baby has lived almost a whole year. One more month to go before we graduate her from being a baby and enroll in the world of Todlerhood huhuhu... I feel a smallest bit of denial.

Lookie how much she looks like more of kid nowadays, as I distracted her to snap a little bow of her whimsy hair. Her Dad didn't like it although he find her pretty with those horns. He's also in denial lol.

11 months of wonderful life with Baby Anzu. I'm starting to get sentimental about letting her explore more on her own. We may be lucky coz eversince she doesn't want to be always held. She loves the floor more and keeps on moving around the house as she already figured out how to lift that tummy off the ground when crawling. Too mobile that I feel like we're chasing her all the time .

There were so many "firstS" and milestones last month that I had hard time keeping some of them up online. --first real words "papa" "hello" "hi", waving "hi" and "Bye", first pool experience, first matsuri, standing, --- there's basically something new everyday .

Wasn't it just only yesterday when we were a bit scared of putting her delicate body on a bath for the first time? I was really nervous that I might slipped her out on my slippery hand so Honey took the charge of bathing her, and I was just a helper for months then. One year is just around the corner.

If only I could stop my baby from growing I would, but honestly, I'm enjoying every minute of it. It's just that time runs really fast (can't just Mr. Time have a slow walk instead??? lol corny).

You're doing just fine baby... we'll always be here to help you figure out how would you fit in to this world. Love you! HAPPY 11 months old!

Baby Brush Your Teeth II

I just want to share my baby's clip while she brushes her two pearly white teeth. Although she's not yet that good on brushing... but atleast she's loving it and with continous practice (with my supervision of course), she would probably master it before she completes her teeth . I as being "sigurista", I have been using a cloth (gauze) over her gums to get them used to being cleaned even before her teeth erupted. I still do it everyday, once a day, even if she's already tries to brush her own teeth with her cute tooth brush, still not enough for me. Not until she can use toothpaste.
I love it when she willingly does with enthusiasms whatever I teach her. She seems to know that her Fab momma (wanna be lol ) knows what's best for her. As all mommas do ...

Those teeth will surely put to good use. Mothers always know best

Here are some FAQs I gathered about Caring Your Baby's Teeth:

When should I start brushing my baby’s teeth?
Pediatricians and dentists recommend starting as soon as the first tooth comes in. That's because sugars in food, milk and formula can form a plaque-like film. Removal of this film is important to promote good oral hygiene at an early age.

What should I use to brush my baby's teeth?
When your baby is under a year old, she (or he) needs to become accustomed to having her teeth and gums cleaned. A soft finger toothbrush will work well.

How do I brush my baby's teeth?
The first few times, begin by cleaning only the front teeth. Soon after, you can gradually move to the back gums. Sitting your baby on your lap works well. Do this twice a day and make it part of your routine - either after baby's bath or when you are brushing your own teeth.
By the time your child is 12 - 18 months, he (or she) will love to have his own toothbrush and mimic you while you brush your teeth together. Let your baby experiment with it.
When it's your turn, hold your toothbrush at a 45 degree angle along the gum line. Then gently move the brush back and forth, using short strokes. Brush the outer surfaces, the inside and the chewing surfaces. For the inside of the front teeth, hold the brush vertically and use up and down strokes.
You'll need to do most of the brushing since it takes a number of years before a child has the coordination to do it alone.

Can I put my baby to bed with a bottle?
You should never put your baby to bed with a bottle (unless it's water) since the sugar in formula or juice will pool around the teeth. A severe condition known as bottle tooth decay may occur.
It's also best not to let your toddler walk around with a bottle during the day. What's important is to minimize the amount of time the bottle is in the mouth.

Why should I use a non-fluoride cleanser for my baby?
While fluoride can help prevent cavities, its use must be carefully controlled in young children. Children are exposed to a wide variety of sources, including drinking water, fluoride toothpaste, fluoride supplements, formula, juice and other kinds of food. Ingesting too much fluoride could result in fluorosis, white spots that develop on the permanent teeth. Fluoride toothpaste may not be appropriate for children under two (ask your doctor or dentist) because babies under two may swallow the toothpaste and ingest too much fluoride.

When should I start taking my child to the dentist?
Your pediatrician is trained to check a baby's teeth and provide instruction on cavity prevention.
Visits to the dentist are also an important part of good oral care. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association recommend a first check-up before your child turns one. The purpose of this visit is for a preventive exam only.

Hope these infos help a little for first time moms like me..

Dressing UP

I love this week's Mommy Moments' theme . I always love dressing up As every girls do . It just boosts self-esteem . My sister and I used to lock ourselves in our room, turn on the music aloud, and you know what's next... trying out clothes and shoes, put make ups et al nicole12-1.gif image by bams704.. I miss that hobby of ours. It was so much fun. I miss being younger lol (im 27 ughhh!)

I guess God has its own way of working our lives . When I planned to move here for good, i don't have my shopping partner anymore, the one whom i'd always ask which one is better and trust her answer.. the one i love dressing up with ANYTIME .. only when she's here, or I am there (PI)...

Thank God He gave us a baby girl whom I love soooo much love . SHe fills the lil emptiness in me .

Apparently, I love dressing her upl. I think I love it so much, that I don't spend enough time on myself in the mornings, and instead take my time preparing her bath and outfits, and sometimes I play the photographer and she's my model. How i wish her whispy hair grows faster (she still doesn't have much!) Anyway, in few months, I would be trying to disctract her and snap a tiny bow in her hair.

dressed up and costume pics (sorry no formal wear photos yet)

Baby Brush Your Teeth

The key to teach our babies how to brush their teeth is as simple as ABC. Make it a fun process.

Of course we want our babies to pick up the good habit of brushing their teeth early in life and we want them to do that often and regularly to make their teeth stronger and look like a real pearly. The only way to achieve this is to teach them to do this is... to make it part of the routine and make them want to do it.

I started to encourage my lil baby Anzu to brush hers ( teeth and gums lol ) by taking her with me whenever I brush my teeth. It's funny how amazed she was the first time and now she already knows how to do it, even at times she overly does it.

Seems I talked a lot, this is a wordless wednesday entry actually. So gotta shut my mouth off and let the photos say it all ...
