Let's get Japanese: nagano and apples

Hope it's not yet too late for my pixelbug weekend sharings...

Last week we went out of town together with my mom's Parents In Law whom we call Okasan (literally means mother), and Ojisan (grandfather). They're old but very much healthy (and not mention young at heart lol). So happy and thankful because they invited us to join them on a trip to Nagano, which is a 3 hour drive away from Tokyo. I was worried at first because that would be Anzu's longest drive (without a childseat) but thank God, she endured it without having a fussy phase. We had few stopovers of course.

Anyway, Im really really thankful not because it was an all expense paid, but it was a wonderful experience for me and my dolly. We stayed in a Japanese Ryokan where in you experience the elements of Japanese culture and customs: living in a room with Tatami (straw mat) flooring, changing into a typical Yukata (robe) after taking an Onsen hot-spring bath, sleeping on a Futon (bedding) put down directly on the Tatami floor, and etc. It's a traditional Japanese hotel. Our rooms are decorated in Japanese style. Each room is equipped with a hot spring bathroom. It's really quite a great experience especially for foreigners (like me lol)

We also had a full course Japanese dinner and breakfast which was really terrific, the prentation and the food itself.

Our breakfast
havent really took a lot of food photos bec i was shy

And the best of all, me and lil Anzu had our first Apple Picking experience... I never knew that they are lots of kinds.. Havent seen apple trees in my whole life lol and now Ive been to few fields of apples.

I realized that it's also fun being with the oldies. You learn a lot and you become more sensible conversationalist lol.

On her 13th month...

Happy 13 months Angela Azumi

Dear Baby,

You’ve come a real long way since last year, baby girl. I can't believe you're much of a toddler these days . Started walking a day before your birthday, but you just didn’t wanna walk for more than a couple of steps at a time without holding anyone's hand, but after a couple of weeks, you could really walk from the living room towards me in the kitchen... I love you and I always want to be with you but I just can't let you in to my kitchen lol. There are just few dangerous zones over there and I won't risk even a little time of you staying and get hurt after awhile. So there you are, cluttering your dad's fax papers lol But its ok, it always my job to clean your clutters. Just wait til you get 2, coz I will definitely teach you how to clean up your mess heheh..

You are communicating so much too.. YOu talk alot and we just know what you mean (most of the time I guess..) YOu could utter few words clearly since the past month such us "UP, UP" while climbing up the staircase, "PAPA" (you also call me papa lol), "BABA" to every old people you see, sometimes you can say "MAMA" but oftentimes you mean it as your food.... "wang wang" when you see your favorite playmate Maruchan , or whenever you see a dog passing by or even on the tv.

It was just a month which has flowned and yet I have so many many things to share about you and your big developments over the month... 13 months of living with you is much more to talk about...

You’re indeed a great kid — full of life. You always make me proud to be your mom. Your daddy and I are having so much fun teaching you about the world.

Keep on exploring, and we'll always stay behind following you, trying to keep up!

Love,
Mama

Halloween at Sanrio Puroland

Halloween is practically not much celebrated here in Japan, although you will see loads of Halloween decorative bits n pieces here and there especially here in Tokyo. From Malls to restaurants... I should've taken more photos so to show you more about here =( OK next time since I am already getting tired of taking Anzu's photos lol..

Anyway, there were also alot of notices for Halloween parties and events, mostly in Amusement Parks like Disney Resort, Universal Studios, Sanrio, and a lot more. SO I guess therefore, it will become more popular here in the coming years...

Since Sanrio is the nearest Amusement Park from our home, I decided to take our lil princess there.. Hubby had to do some business errands so he just dropped us. OK lang, Anzu never give me a hard time especially when we're outside and besides, Honey doesn't like Sanrio.. ayoko ng may nagmamadali lol

This year is actually Anzu's first Halloween. Even there was no Trick or treat in our neighborhood, that didn't stop us to enjoy the halloween. Although too bad, we were sooo late for the Halloween Party which started at 1pm. Anzu didn' get halloween give-aways lol BUT nonetheless, we enjoyed the other attractions and shows.

Before the day ended, I was really glad to see my hubby's friend whom I havent seen for almost 2 years.. なつかしい。。He's the one on the last picture in the slide. Anyway, that's another story. Im just so glad he finally meet our lil dolly princess and he can't believe that time has indeed flown so fast.

My babe's first halloween costume which I bought with a 50% discount.

That's how we spent our weekend.
